Project Description of the Filtration & Chlorination Plant:

Secondary treated sewage effluent is chlorinated via a dedicated gaseous chlorination plant at Wetalla, Toowoomba. This disinfected effluent is then pumped to the Power Station dam 100 kms south. The stored effluent from the dam is filtered then re-chlorinated prior to use at the Power Station. The filtration process includes automatic self cleaning filters to 500 micron then a bank of six sand filters. This system is integrated into the overall plant control via SCADA.
