In 2009 CRS was awarded a contract to design and manufacture the permanent wastewater treatment plant for the LNG processing facility being developed on Barrow Island. The plant consists of inlet screening, biological nutrient removal, Norit Airlift ultrafiltration technology, sludge digestion and sludge dewatering.

The entire plant is controlled via the site process control system (PCS). Separate instrumentation is also provided and utilised by the safety instrument system (SIS). All electrical equipment is IEC certified for installation into a Zone 2, Group IIA, T3 hazardous area.

This project involved an extensive VDR consisting of over 100 documents & over 80 specification documents. The equipment provided included ASMEB73.1 chemical process pumps, API675 chemical metering pumps and API valves.
