CRS has completed the construction of the Permanent Ground Water Treatment Plant for the new M4 East Motorway in Sydney.

The permanent water treatment plant includes specific technology to remove contaminants that will be present in the ground water which continually percolates into the tunnel system.

Ground water is supplied to the plant where treatment processes including Screening, Aeration, Clarification, Media Filtration, pH correction and Coagulation are utilized to treat the water to acceptable quality for discharge to local storm water.

The project represented a successful joint effort by both CRS and CSJ, with CRS performing the design, installation and FAT whilst CSJ performed the site civil construction works, including foundations and concrete sumps.

The plant is fully automated with a local PLC, communication to the entire tunnel control station, with remote operation capabilities. CRS was responsible for installation, commissioning and operator training onsite.
