CRS has completed the construction of the Paluma Township Water Treatment Plant with capacity to deliver 90 kL/day of potable water.

CRS’ completed WTP has improved quality of life in the township with ready access now available to high quality potable water. Prior to CRS’ plant completion the town was on a permanent boil water notice.

Local river water is supplied to the plant where treatment processes including Screening, Ultrafiltration, GAC Filtration, UV Disinfection, pH correction and Chlorine Disinfection are performed.

The project represented a successful joint effort by both CRS and Townsville City Council (TCC), with CRS performing the design, installation and FAT whilst TCC performed the site civil construction works and installation of the linkages to existing infrastructure on site.

The plant is fully automated with a local PLC, and process alarms are sent to the project control system indicating a need for maintenance. CRS was responsible for installation, commissioning and operator training onsite.
