This Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is designed to treat effluent from an accommodation village to a quality suitable for irrigation. The plant is fully automated via a PLC and a touch screen operator interface.

This project utilises the Extended Aeration Activated Sludge method of biological sewage treatment incorporating primary sedimentation tank, aeration tank and secondary clarifier. The system uses two CRS Model 500 mild steel packaged STP with aeration supplied via a “Roots” type blower and diffusers. The feed pumps, blowers, RAS pumps and dosing pumps are provided in duty/standby configurations.

Disinfection is undertaken using liquid chlorine dosing with an ORP controller prior to discharge.
