Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor
Moving Bed Bioreactors utilise small plastic packing pieces as biofilm carriers, which operate in a mixed motion in the vessel. The mixing action is provided by a blower, which also provides aeration to the system and promotes the oxidation of the substrate.
With the bacteria carried on the plastic packing, sludge does not need to be recycled to maintain bacterial populations. This enables the use of more compact systems to lower footprints and capital expenditure. MBBR systems are synergistic with many other sewage and wastewater treatment processes and can be used in conjunction to improve effluent quality.
CRS can provide fully designed and manufactured MBBR systems for sewage and wastewater treatment or standalone biofilm carriers to serve as upgrades to existing plants.
